Pavers & Patios

Design. Install. Repair. Outdoor spaces built to be lived on.

A well-built paver patio turns a backyard into the most-used room of the house. We design and install interlocking paver patios, walkways, fire pit surrounds, and driveways, set on a compacted base with clean edges and joints that stay put.

Pavers earn their keep in our climate. Unlike a single slab, an interlocking paver surface flexes with freeze-thaw movement instead of cracking through, and if a section ever settles, it can be lifted and re-set without tearing out the whole patio. The catch: none of that works unless the base is built right. We excavate, lay geotextile where soil conditions call for it, compact aggregate in lifts, screed the bedding layer, and lock the field with edge restraint and polymeric sand.

From a simple walkway to a full outdoor living area with seating walls and a fire pit, we'll help you pick a paver style and layout that fits your home and your budget, then build it to last. We also repair and re-level existing paver surfaces that have settled or heaved.

Common Questions

Pavers or a poured concrete patio?

Pavers cost more up front but handle Virginia's freeze-thaw far better, never show one big crack, and are repairable section by section. Concrete is the budget option. We build both and will price both if you'd like.

Will weeds grow between the pavers?

Not if the joints are filled with polymeric sand and the base is compacted properly, weeds root from the top down, and a tight joint gives them nowhere to start.

Can you match my existing pavers for a repair?

Usually, yes. Most repairs reuse your existing pavers; when stone is damaged we source the closest match available and blend it into less visible areas.
